Majors & Programs

Degrees and Minors

We offer a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geography, a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies, as well as three minors (Geography, Geography – Global Studies, and Environmental Studies). Each B.A. degree has two tracks to choose from:

Our B.A. in Geography, General Track covers a wide range of topics such as physical geography, mapping, GIS, remote sensing, regional studies, urbanization, and ecology. The broad and synthetic nature of this degree makes it ideal for a wide range of careers in our region and elsewhere.

Our B.A. in Geography, Global Studies Track addresses the importance of understanding the causes and consequences of globalization. It focuses on processes that determine characteristics and interactions within and between countries and/or global regions.

Our B.A. in Environmental Studies, Track A is a multi-disciplinary degree with courses in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Health Sciences, and Geology. Its purpose is to prepare students for careers in most environmental fields.

Or B.A. in Environmental Studies, Track B is a science-intensive degree that prepares students for careers in environmental monitoring, policy, and consulting.

Our Certificates

Along with our B.A. degrees, we offer a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Our GIS certificate provides training in computer based digital mapping, geospatial data analysis, and remote sensing techniques, from fundamental concepts to advanced applications, giving students technical and administrative skills needed in the job market.
