Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will award graduate scholarships to help students with exceptional promise and demonstrated financial need reach their full potential through education. The Foundation will award 45 to 50 scholarships to outstanding students to begin studies in fall 2007. Each award will cover a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses and other required fees for the length of the approved graduate degree program, up to six years. Every scholarship varies, depending on the cost of attendance and other scholarships or grants received. The maximum award available per student is $50,000 per year. Scholars may use the award to attend any accredited graduate school in the US or abroad. Awards are ordinarily for the first graduate or professional degree. Applications are available at the Jack Kent Cooke website: http://www.jackkentcookefoundation.org/jkcf_web/home.aspx?Page=Main. The application deadline is Friday, February 9, 2007. Applications are due to the Office of Graduate Studies by 5:00pm.
Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program
The Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive/Forgivable Loan Program is the largest program in the nation which is designed to increase the diversity of the pool of qualified faculty candidates. The CDI/FLP will lend participants who are full-time doctoral students up to $10,000 annually to a limit of $30,000 over a five-year period. The recipients may enroll in any approved doctoral program at an accredited university in the United States or abroad. After completion of the doctoral degree, a CDI/FLP participant is extended a 12-month grace period before loan repayments begin. If the participant obtains a full-time instructional faculty position in the CSU, the loan principal and interest are "forgiven" at the rate of 20% for each year of service. After five years of full-time faculty service, the entire loan amount can be forgiven. Applications will be available in the Office of Graduate Studies (AD-127). Sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office. The application deadline is Friday, February 9, 2007. Applications are due to the Office of Graduate Studies by 5:00pm |
